Definition of Literature & Types of Literature

 WHAT IS LITERATURE || DEFINITION OF LITERATURE || LITERARY || ENGLISH LITERATURE:  

DEFINITION OF LITERATURE:- Anything in written form is called Literature. Literature not only means English Literature but on the other hand, Literature refers to every Literature which exist in this world like there are 6000 languages in the world. And these 6000 languages are called Literatures because these all languages will must have written framework. these will have own semiotics(signs) through which people use to understand. If we take a look at the origin of humans when the humans were primitive then they used write on against the wall caves. they used to write the signs which are seemed arbitrary(illogical) in contemporary time. But most interestingly, those were meaningful somehow for them indeed! Hypothetically, Sanskrit, Tamil, and Hebrew are approximately 5000 years old languages. It means these are some oldest Literatures in human history.    

                                                                                                                                                     LITERARY & ENGLISH LITERATURE

What is meant by Literary? Literary means something which is in written form is called Literary. It's synonyms are Creative works, writings, written works, literature et cetera...    What is meant by English Literature?   As it's been explained above what is Literature? English is a language which has been mostly been evolved through West. Like, It has origin from Anglo-Saxon Era but we have encompassed The History English Literature in this web from the Classical Age because It has some works which are still used in current Post Modern Age. Like, TROY(movie), It has been adopted from the Homer's work Iliad and Odyssey. So, basically, In this web, I am focused on English Literature and Linguistics. I'm to encompass Linguistics as well because It's the scientific study of language and Literature and Linguistics both go hand in hand. I've created different categories of English Literature and Linguistics that learners couldn't face any sort of difficulty. So, In English Literature, We will be focused on writers, poets, philosophers, critiques, novelists, revolutionists, evolution of classicism, human evolutions, History of dialectics of everything and so on... There are a lot of other things which I'm going to be uploading on my best understanding and will be explaining in a nutshell.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

KINDS OF LITERATURE:- There are two kinds of Literature

 APPLIED LITERATURE

 A literature/Literary work which is being applied that is called Applied Literature. Example:- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and other sciences.              

PURE LITERATURE

 Literary works which are aesthetically or didactically are written through profound thinking and it's is purely the production of mind. and it encompasses Stories, Dramas, Novels, Poetries and other fictional and non-fictional works.                                                                                                                                                                             

THERE ARE FOUR MAJOR PHILOSOPHIES OF LITERATURE

1. AESTHETICISM:- It means amusement and pleasure.                                                  

Suppose you are boredom of your daily routine and you come to your home and pick up an animated movie like MADAGASCAR or OPEN SEASON(movies) and you start watching cartoony movie with popcorn in your hand and you do not want this time to go.      So, this is what you are doing, you are watching cartoony movie for Aestheticism, you are watching for pleasure and amusement that your boredom might go away. This is what we can also call it like aesthetic movie. Anything that we do to eradicate our boredom is for aestheticism. Everyday in our life, we try to find aestheticism(amusement/pleasure).                                                                                                                                                                2. DIDACTICISM:-  It means learning instructions or learn something from something intentionally.   Suppose you are boredom of your work and you are a student or teacher of Astrology. And you are feeling like to entertain yourself and you also don't want to waste your time then you will pick up a movie on astrology like you are picking up a movie 'THEORY OF EVERYTHING' A movie based on Stephen Hawking(A great scientist who worked on BLACKHOLE) on Astrology. Now, you've chosen this movie because you'll get aestheticism and plus you'll be learning from it. So, 'THEORY OF EVERTHING' movie is aesthetic and as well as didactic because we're enjoying and learning as well.                                                                                                                                                                              

3. ART FOR ART's SAKE:- It is the Literature's biggest philosophy. According to Frank Lioyd Wright ''Art for art's sake' is a philosophy of well-fad" art for art's sake is aestheticism it means only fun. And mostly writers use art for art's sake philosophy to entertain themselves and others. In Art for art's sake philosophy we only get pleasure means we get aestheticism not didacticism. Simply, We can understand 'Art for art's sake' is Aestheticism.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

 4. ART FOR LIFE'S SAKE:- It is Literature's biggest philosophy. In the works of 'Art for Life's sake' we find both Aestheticism and Didacticism. means, we get amusement and as well as we get to learn something from it. Suppose, If we take example of movies that we have mentioned above like MADAGASCAR, a cartoony movie in which we would only find fun and pleasure. means the writer of Madagascar movie used his 'art for art's sake' approach on the other hand, 'THEORY OF EVERYTHING' is counted in 'Art for Life's sake' philosophy because in this movie we'd find both aestheticism and didacticism means we will enjoy and as well as learn from this movie that's why this movie comes in 'ART FOR LIFE's SAKE'.                                                                                                                                                                                                     

There's core concept or heart of English Literature on which literature revolves has been philosophy by HORACE,"Carpe Diem Quam Minimum Credula Postero."It means, "Seize the day put no trust in tomorrow." Especially, 'Carpe Diem means seize the day'.       If we look at ourselves or at other people, we will find that we are chasing something in our life that is like getting job, having nice car, bungalow, beautiful wife, handsome husband, a beautiful career, respect, power, and dominancy over others. We keep struggling to get what is our ambition and we do not have value what we have in our daily life. like, our family Father, mother, sister, brother, respect in society, and having the education that other people are not getting but we are getting comfort of each and everything and we still become disappointed that we haven't anything. So, here what Literature introduces us to 'Carpe Diem' seize the day, enjoy what you have right now and enjoy the company what you have right now, do whatever you want to do right now because tomorrow never comes.
