Great Gatsby is a novel which was published in 1925 by An American authors F. Scott Fitzgerald in America. The novel shows the interaction of narrator Nick Carraway with mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and the obsession of Gatsby to reunite with his formal affection Daisy Buschanan. It is a tragic novel. It has 218 pages. Great Gatsby is widely considered to be a literary masterpiece and contender for the title of the Great American Novel and a movie has been adopted on it in 2013 with the same name ' The Great Gatsby'.

PLOT AND SUMMARY

In Spring 1922, Nick Carraway, A Yale graduated from the Midwest and a great war veteran, he decides to journey to New York City for employment as a bond salesman. He rents a house in the long Island village of West Egg next to extravagant palace like bungalow of every luxury of Jay Gatsby, a completely mysterious multi-millionaire. One evening, he goes to his cousin Daisy Buchanan, a distant relative for dine in the town of West Egg. Daisy is married to Tom Buchanan, a formal Yale football star whom Nick knew from his college days. Tom and Daisy had been relocated from Chicago to a bungalow directly across the bay from Gatsby's palace. So, When Nick arrives at Buchanan's bungalow, there Nick met Jordan Baker. Nick had nice meeting with three of them, Jordan revealed to Nick that Tom keeps mistress in private named Myrtle Wilson, who telephones him at his home and she lives in the valley of the ashes. Days later, Nick disagreeably accompanies drunken and agitated Tom to New York City by train. During route, They stopped at a garage of mechanic George Wilson and his wife Myrtle. Myrtle joins Tom and Nick, Three of them went New York apartment there Tom had rented a room for his fun with Myrtle and informed Myrtle to ask her friends to company Nick and there Nick was shy but Myrtle's friend made Nick to drink then all of them enjoyed most. Tom got angry with Myrtle then he slapped and broke her nose on the reason that she was mentioning name of Daisy then party suddenly finished, Tom took Nick and got away. In a fine morning, Nick gets the invitation of the party from Gatsby through letter. When he gets in to the palace of Gatsby's, he recognizes no one but he saw Jordan, while chatting her, he asked her about Gatsby that has she seen Gatsby ever then Jordan said not yet, nobody has seen him. Then suddenly during their conversation, a person accosted introducing himself as Jay Gatsby. And shares that he and Nick have served in 3rd Infantry Division during the war. Gatsby tries to be familiar with Nick, when Nick leaves party then Gatsby watches him leaving. On the other day, Gatsby takes Nick for lunch where he tries to impress Nick by telling him about his struggles, achievements and heroism and tells him about his Oxford days. Subsequently, Nick meets with Jordan in hotel where Jordan tells Nick that Gatsby and Daisy met a long time ago when Gatsby was an officer in the American Force. They two fall in love with each other when Gatsby and other soldiers were invited on a formal party. Gatsby was called for overseas on a mission then Daisy reluctantly married to Tom. Now, Gatsby got back with his newfound wealth gave parties to all ministers and richest peoples to seek the attention of Daisy and was being attached to Nick that he could fix a meeting and Gatsby asked Nick that he wants to meet Daisy then Nick agreed and invited Daisy to his home as Gatsby could meet him. Daisy came on invitation of  Nick to his home and saw Gatsby, both Gatsby and Daisy were thinking of what to talk and Nick got away that he's got an urgent work. So, From that day Gatsby takes Daisy to his palace and she used to come to his home and both embark upon the sexual affair. Now, as days many days passed, soon, Tom found her affair with Gatsby on incident when Daisy call out Gatsby's name. Later on, In Plaza hotel, Tom and Gatsby argued about the affair, Gatsby insists Daisy to declare that she never loved Tom, Daisy declares that she loves Tom and Gatsby, disappointing both, Tom reveals that Gatsby is a swindler whose money comes bootlegging alcohol, upon hearing it, Daisy chooses to stay with Tom. Tom scornfully says Gatsby to drive her home, satisfactorily knowing that Daisy will never leave her. While coming back to East Egg, Gatsby and Daisy drive by George's garage where accidently Myrtle got struck  in their car and in no time she died. Gatsby on insistence of Nick revealed that Daisy was driving but I will take this on me to protect her. Nick emphasized Gatsby to go away to avoid prosecution, but Gatsby refused, And waited for Daisy that she could come but she didn't. And Tom tells George that Gatsby owns that car which struck Myrtle. George then fatally shot Gatsby in Swing pool and committed suicide. After the murder of Gatsby, Nick called Daisy and Tom's home several times for funeral and servant informed Nick that they are moved but they were listening but did not answer Nick and prevent servant to not pick the call again. So, There, Nick got a profound sensation for Gatsby. He said that No one came in funeral, no minister, richest men, not any single person of party which were given by Gatsby generously. Nick mention Jay Gatsby as Great Gatsby, Nick knew that he was great person with kind heart. Tom admits that he was the who told George that Gatsby owned the car that killed Myrtle.
